OpenSuse 10.2
I remember installing a Linux distro for the first time back in April 2000. I had bought the magazine Chip(now renamed to Digit), which had come with a cd of Suse 6.3 Linux. I was curious to know how other operating systems looked like. So after a lot of convincing at home I finally installed it. I was shocked with the number of applications that came out of the box. It was amazing to use another operating system. Forward to 2007, and I go buy ‘Linux For You’ and they give Open Suse 10.2 - As expected I was curious to see what they had done with their distro. I was impressed with Ubuntu 6.06LTS. But it did not detect my serial mouse out of the box which was a bit painful. It also did not detect my onboard video card - because of which I was stuck in a resolution of 640×480. And I couldn’t get my reliance modem work on Ubuntu. So I had plenty of reasons to try a new distro.
I pop in the Open Suse 10.2 DVD and reboot.
