Nexenta Alpha 5 Review
Nexenta, is only a few distros that is currently using OpenSolaris. OpenSolaris is the open sourced version of Sun's main OS which has been ported from SPARC architecture to x86 and now is open sourced.
Nexenta, is building itself upon the popularity of Ubuntu by offering not only the look and feel, but the functionality of Ubuntu as well.
Installation is somewhat quite easy, although Nexenta tries to base itself on Ubuntu, the installer does not; you will be greeted by a text installer. Although this is a text installer, it is quite easy to follow, but one down fall is there is no mouse selection and it will have to be done via keyboard.
It might not be obvious during the installation on how to move around, but the tab key will let you move in the menu options to choose OK or Cancel. The down arrow will let you move down to the next field and the space bar acts like the enter key.
The partition tool is also straight forward.
