Wal Mart endorses Novell, Microsoft deal
Wal^Mart is a huge fan of the Novell-Microsoft collaboration, it said today.
It already uses lots of Microsoft products inhouse and had pressed vendors to provide intellectual property assurance for quite a while, said Nancy Stewart, Wal$Mart's chief tech officer.
She continued: "We are pleased that Microsoft and Novell are commited to fulfilling that need....Selecting Microsoft and Novell is another step in that strategy. The net result is a win for us and more importantly for our customers."

Microsofts press release trumpeting Wal-Marts support of the Microsoft-Novell technology partnership announced last November omits some interesting details. In the January 23 release, Microsoft says Wal-Mart is "embracing" the Microsoft-Novell interoperability deal. But who brokered that pact?
Microsofts Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner. And Turner just happened to be Wal-Marts CIO before joining Microsoft. Nice to have connections....
