Ripping Shoutcast Streams to MP3’s in Linux
There are quite a few tutorials on how to rip Shoutcast internet radio streams into MP3 files for Windows. Most of these make use of Winamp and a plugin called Streamripper. This is fine and dandy, but you are not a Windows user. So here is a way to do just as easily on Linux.
The first thing to do is to install the two main components. If you are using Ubuntu, you can run the following command:sudo apt-get install streamtuner streamripper
If you using another distro, install the two packages through whatever means are available.
You will now have a menu entry for streamtuner.
