Single board computers (SBCs) have been credited with rekindling an interest in electronics across all age groups, young and old. SBCs themselves have been around for a very long time and can be found in many industrial automation systems, but it was the advent of boards such as the Arduino and Raspberry Pi that really established the maker trend.
