Review: Fluxbuntu nBuild1 Revision2
Ubuntu is without a doubt one of the fastest growing desktop Linux distributions. It is so popular that it has sprouted many derivatives. One of which is Fluxbuntu.
Fluxbuntu, still in early development, aims to take the power and flexibility of Ubuntu and slim it down into a lightweight and agile operating system. It should be no surprise that Fluxbuntu takes advantage of Fluxbox as its window manager. The philosophy behind this project is simple: run on a wide range of devices and computers both low- and high-end.
I originally found out about Fluxbuntu via a Google search involving Fluxbox and Ubuntu. It took me a while to realise that it was a actually a distribution and not just a way to run Fluxbox in Ubuntu. I was excited by the concept of an Ubuntu system running Fluxbox. I love the speed and versatility of Fluxbox, but I always hated having to spend hours customizing it to get the most basic functionality.
