Second KDE 4 Developers Snapshot Available
The second KDE 4 developers snapshot is now available. This 3.80.2 release includes source from all the KDE modules. Application developers are strongly advised to work primarily on KDE 4 from now on.
This release builds with Qt 4.2.0 and 4.2.1 (but not the 4.2 preview). Packages are available for Kubuntu and currently working through the SUSE buildservice.

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |

KDE 3.80.2 are available for Kubuntu Edgy
Packages of KDE 3.80.2 are available for Kubuntu Edgy. In this second developers snapshot of KDE 4 full sessions seem to be running nicely. Lots of things crash but it's a good start. As a distro developer one of my current worries is how KDE 3 apps will run under KDE 4, with these packages it works except for kioslaves which complain about klauncher breaking. So if I can work that one out, it should be OK.
