More than half of all organizations worldwide have open source software in their production networks, and almost three-quarters of all software developers use open source in their work.
That's the finding of International Data Corp. (IDC), which surveyed more than 5,000 developers in 116 countries. The market research house predicts that, "open source will eventually play a role in the life-cycle of every major software category, and will fundamentally change the value proposition of packaged software for customers."

Mixed shops have been the norm for years and years, so what's the big deal?
As to "3/4's of all developers use open source in their work" - does that count Firefox? Once again, big deal.
IDC is as bad as Gartner. Put a few buzz words together, wrap it up in a bunch of "what if's" and sell it to the suits for a huge profit.
